Hey Mets Fans,
Time to beat the mid winter duldrums (somebody let me know if that's spelled wrong), and start thinking about Baseball! I saw a comments somewhere (i can't give credit, sorry) about the end of Football season and the impending start of baseball season. It went something like this....."We like Football, but we LOVE Baseball (maybe it was from MLB.com.....forgive me but i'm operating on very little sleep, and i'm currently in the beginning of a deployment). I think that about sums it up.....i watched the super bowl (non capitalization intended), and although it was a good game it has NOTHING on a great WORLD SERIES. I mean, match up the Patriots and the Giants 3 days in a row, and you're going to get at least three different outcomes. That's why the World Series is great, because a team can have a few bad games (anybody really remember the 86 World Series) and rebound (i REPEAT....anybody remember the 86 WORLD SERIES) to snatch VICTORY from the jaws of DEFEAT.
Give me the crack of the bat over the course of 160+ games in baseball vs a 15 game season of football. Not taking anything away from the Giants victory, but i'm just saying......!
Folks, the way i see it we've got a recipe for a Division, League and MLB winning season. Let's get behind the METS and fill Shea every time we can. Remember, it's the last year for a great stadium, and we need to have a fitting send off every night, not just the final game of the year!
