the big, the bad, the bullpen

I the beginning of spring all us Met fans were extremely optimistic about the strength of our bullpen. Now the spring training is in full swing we are starting to experience some issues. Hopefully this is just rust that needs to be worn off rather then a issue for the 2007 campaign. Another suprise seems to be Oliver Perez. Call me crazy but I'm very happy with his performance so far this spring. Other then the first start he had against the Tigers, he seems to have a bit better stuff with a bit more comand. I feel as if the starting rotation is going to be fine this year, lets just hope that the bullpen can pitch up to expectation.

GO METS!

The middle innings bullpen

The middle innings bullpen is really questionable. Sanchez is late and overweight. Burgos is not ready. Joe Smith looks good but is untested. For the moment I'm assuming that our setup-closer combo will be Heilman/Wagner.
