Lets take a look at the questions of the outfield

The excitement of the 2007 season is just around the corner. The first issue I'd like to address would be the presence of Shawn Green. With a medocre 2006 campaign with the Mets, there are a lot of Met fans that are very concerned with his production or lack there of. Since coming over to the Mets, Green hit .257 with an on base percentage of .325. With Endy Chavez on the bench, there are a lot of Met fans that are hoping for him to get some more playing time. With Endy getting 177 less at bats then Green, he hit .306 with a .348 on base percentage. Chavez proved last fall that he can be an electrifying outfielder in the clutch. Green did have a average of above .300 in the playoffs but didn't perform as expected in the regular season. Also with Lastings Milledge in background, Shawn Green could be battling for his starting position in the spring. With the Mets declining Green's $10 million option for 2008, they could look to make a move in the early parts of the season. (Fox Sports, http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/team?categoryId=71607&CMP=OTC-K9B140813162&...) With the Mets having two very talented young outfielders making a case for playing time, Shawn Green is going to have to step it up right off the bat (no pun intended) in order to insure his starting position. Don't be surprised as well if Moises Alou has some playing time taken away by these two young guns. With the abundance of quality outfielders, Met fans can expect a deal to happen for some pitching. My projection date for a deal is June 1st. Give me some feedback and let me know how you think. Till next time... GO METS!

Endy Deserves Respect

Based on the amazing catch in Game 7 of the NLCS Endy deserves a legit chance to start in Left Field. He doesn't have the power of Alou, but he plays excellent defense, can get on base and is very very fast.

And I really do hope that Lastings shows us something. I would like to see him play well enough to supplant Shawn Green in right field by the All Star break.
