Lastings Milledge

So finally we hear some good news... Milledge is healed up and ready to start for the Mets... This helps fill the void left by injuries to Alou, Chavez and Gomez... My personal take on this is that I'm loving it... First it helps us fill that spot because frankly Ledee, Newhan and Johnson are not the answer in OF... Secondly if Milledge plays great it will only enhance his value for a trade... One thing to consider is that many people say that Alou and Chavez will be back by the end of the month which also is around the trade deadline... So I see it this way.. Milledge plays to fill the void and once Chavez and/or Alou come back we trade him for a pitcher... The Mets may be on the upswing *Knock on wood*

I'm not eager to trade Milledge, but I do look forward to seeing Milledge back with the big boys. I think he'll do very well... if Willie gives him a shot.

I agree with you comment about the need for a great outfielder to take the place of all the outfielders. I think that he showed his potential last year, and could be a welcome addition to the Mets. He's done well in his rehab, let's just hope he stays healthy.
We an help him with that by keeping him out of the outfield....it's some kind of bad luck area on the field. Everybody that's been in the outfield has gotten hurt. It's a Joke people!

Well based on his first game

Well based on his first game back it looks like he came to play! Excellent hustle scoring from first on a base hit, which turned out to be the deciding run. There are going to be some tough roster decisions to be made in the next couple weeks, assuming Chavez and Alou are on the mend.

As I wrote elsewhere, however, I wasn't thrilled to see the camera cutaway to Wright and Milledge working out a new celebation dance choreography. I would rather they spend the time talking about hitting. Or the pressures of playing in New York. Or girls. Or anything else for that matter.
