Great game by the Mets last night. First game I was able to watch all season and I must say I'm impressed. Delgado seems to be back which is great considering Beltran and Reyes have cooled a bit. Wright is still inconsistent, although he did hit one as far as he could without getting a homerun. Perez was a bit shaky giving up the 2 HR in the fist inning but then he settled down and retired something like the next 14 straight batters. The only reason the game was close was that the Giants pitcher (Lincecum) pitched a great game as well. Watch out for this guy in the future. He seems to have the stuff to become a dominant Ace.

One thing though about Gomez. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't he meant for speed not that much power? Why was he trying to swing for the fences late in the game? He needs to learn that his number 1 priority is to get on base not to mash runs in. But that will come with experience and hopefully he picks up the tricks of the trade from Rickey Henderson.
