Every Win Is A Grind

Is it me or are even wins excruciatingly painful. Injuries, rain delays and assorted drama are taking their toll on me.

The Phillies are doing what they have do and beating the bad teams in the National League East. So why the hell aren't the Mets doing that?

This team has a screw loose right now. The bats have been producing runs but they are making foolish errors and the bullpen is a black hole. How can a playoff team make as many errors as The Mets have made this week?

All of a sudden we are in a sprint to the finish in this division. This is really a test of the team and our skipper Willie Randolph. They need to play well and Willie needs to make his best decisions. If that doesn't happen our Mets might be spending October on the sidelines.

its hard, but we got to take every win

every win counts unless the mets can magically get a three, four game lead by the end of the weekend. its hard not to just give up and throw in the towel as a met fan, i get joked upon everyday when the mets loose a tough one. the bats have really come alive this week, the errors are down especially since we only got just one error yesterday. the starting pitching is doing well, the only concern with them is that their giving up after the 6th inning. but the starting rotation and the defense and the lineup for the most part is good, and i am not worried about that. what i am worried about is the magic black hole of the new york mets bullpen. what a complete roller coaster this bullpen has been through this year. the beginning of september was their shining moment but since the philly series it has been a heart attack waiting to happen. it was a miracle that the bullpen was actually able to hold the marlins after the rain delay. i do not believe that mets fans are losing hope that our team will win the division, we're mets fans and we always believe even in tough times. the problem we mets fans face is that this is taking too long and we know we have a good team, we are just not moving on all cylinders. we got florida for the rest of the weekend and then we finish the season home, the mets and their fans cannot ask for a better time and place to turn september around. theirs a week left in the season, and we all know that in baseball anything can happen in one week.

Sickening.

No more excuses. No more "Met fans have to suck it up", no more "they need to have a good run". No more. There is absolutely no confidence in anybody in this bullpen and a team hoping to make the playoffs needs to have SOMEONE they can count on. Too much inconsistency which has been this team's modus operandi from May until now.

Even if they do manage to come back and win this game, it makes no difference. It has been very diffult to watch game after game of the same thing. I have no confidence that this team has the heart or the talent to "right the ship" this late in the season. A shame really as the bats have come alive. However, they have "come alive" playing the worst teams in the National League.
