We Needed This Win

Well the Mets bats came out to play in the last two games of this series. Not a moment too soon either.

I had the wind sucked out of me after that 13 inning loss on Tuesday night. I thought someone slipped a sleeping pill into the Mets water jug. Thankfully we bounced back in the last two games. Didn't Lastings Milledge go 0 for 6? He did make two nice catches though.

The power and big hits are coming from unlikely sources. Damion Easely? Marlon Anderson? Jorge Sosa? I'll take it.

Our two MVP candidates at this point in the season are Billy Wagner and David Wright. We all know Wagner has been money this year.

David Wright had four hits today and has quietly rose his average above .300 while taking the team lead in RBIs. Delgado keeps getting warm then cold. Beltran is out. Jose Reyes is on track to have a year like last year. Better than average but he could improve. Moises Alou came alive today. Anything we get from him is gravy in my opinion.

The jury's still out on Luis Castillo. Omar did the deal because we desperately needed to replace Valentin. But Castillo is not an impact player. I will say this. That dude can bunt and it looks like he hustles so I'm not sorry to have him.

We're only four games up on two teams. There's still a lot of work to do.
