This Team Is Going Sideways
What to say about this team right now? One step forward and one step back.
Some guys are playing well. Milledge, Gotay and Delgado are getting decent bat on the ball. Others are slumping badly. Shawn Green has disappeared. At least he's healthy and hustling though.
Answers really don't come easy right now. Yes, there are injuries. Who knows what we can get from Alou? Jorge Sosa got hurt and hasn't been the same. Now Paul LoDuca is hurt. And Carlos Beltran will probably be out for a couple of more games.
This team has really lost its clutch two. Jose Reyes is hitting just above .200 with two outs and runners in scoring position. I'm not seeing the excitement or the will to come back late that we had in 2006.
Somethings gotta give with this crew. It seems like I end up repeating the same mantra week in and week out. We've got some excellent players who aren't performing to their standards. If they were this team would have at least ten more wins right now and be running away with the division.
And things may be getting worse
The braves just acquired Teixeria and are on the verge of possibly acquiring Dotel... With the Braves making bold moves to shore up their offense and bullpen we need to be concerned... Without these new players the Braves are only 4(???) games back... so with the new players they could be on top in no time.. we need to get our ship back on track and sail into the playoffs
