Injuries And Guts

The Mets roster is in crazy flux due to injuries. Take a look at the player ratings page and see what I mean.
Vargas down. Williams activated. Gomez to DL. Perez to DL. Newhan called up. Crazy and scary.
After many months out Dave Williams gets the start against Houston. Hopefully the well stays deep and Dave can give us some of the type of pitching he was able to deliver in 2006.
Willie Randolph keeps showing that he has the guts and presence to lead the 2007 Mets to a championship. The benching of Jose Reyes for lack of hustle was a very necessary action. Young players with lots of talent have a tendency to get complacent. Those players need strong leadership to keep them in line.
The Mets are on shaky ground with the All-Star break coming up. A slight lead in the NL East. Lots of injuries. Hitting that can't seem to stay on track for more than a couple of games.
We're going to need talent, leadership and hustle to break out from the pack in the second half. I think we've got all those things but they all rely on each other for success.

I agree
Rob you're right on about young talent becoming complacent. That's why i was shocked to see Jose just standing in the box. But i look forward to seeing how Jose (et al) respond to Willie's tough love. I think it's going to be an exciting rest of the season!
LETS'S GO METS!
