We Got The Pitching

We got the pitching we needed to close out the rubber game of the three game series with the Braves.

Tom Glavine gave up a couple of runs but still pitched well. Even Scott Schoenweis was able to come in late and hold the line. Alas, the bats were flat.

I think the frustration was personified by David Wright steaming over a questionable check swing call with the bases loaded. Cry all you want, that wasn't the only reason the Mets lost.

The team is in a dip right now. We've lost three of four games. And some of our key players are in slumps right now. Jose Reyes is cold. Carlos Beltran has been cold but showed a bit of life last night. Carlos Delgado shows signs but is still cold.

We've had fortune with other players picking up the effort when the big folks were slow. That's not going to happen throughout the entire season.

I think the key to getting revived is Jose Reyes. He is the table setter and when he's on base anything can happen.

Don't worry Tom, we'll get you to number 300 soon enough.
