Dontrelle Who?

I remember during the trading deadline last season how much man love I had for Willis and how I suggested dealing a Milledge and a Pelfrey for him. I sought him for my pitiful fantasy team early this season as a potential ace of my staff and was willing to trade Penny (Rob, thanks for rejecting that trade :-)).

Since then he has been steadily descending into a pit of mediocrity.

He is rock bottom in the NL in runs, earned runs, and BAA and bottom 5 in losses, ERA and WHIP. He does have some good fight in him, traditionally pitches well against us (and bats well against us too - do I recall a grand slam last season) and seems to relish the role of the spoiler. The Marlins rearranged their rotation specifically to have D-train face us tonight.

But we should blast him for 12 runs. We are 5-0 in Dolphin Stadium this season, where Reyes is batting .391 and Beltran .381.

C'mon guys, it's not like he's wearing a Phillies uniform or anything scary like that. Time to let this series be the one that builds our momentum to the finish line.

Let's Go Mets!!!

Well, that was simply atrocious.

Who didn't think the game was in the bag when Marlon hit the bases loaded triple in the ninth? We beat their closer soundly. Even after Feliciano gave up a hit and Sosa gave up a couple I thought there was no possible way a team like the Marlins would have the heart to come back, and the Mets would have the heart to give it away.

I am now phasing back into "Met fan" mode, the mode in which I have been for the majority of the past 40 or so years. Glad when they win but don't expect too much because you are bound to be disappointed.
