It is unbelievable how these injuries are piling up lately. Pedro starts the season on the DL, we all expected that. Alou, well, we all expected he would be spending some time on the DL this season. Then Valentin goes down, but at least Easley has been stepping up relatively well, especially with some clutch hits early on to build our confidence in him.

And then Green, who has never been on the DL before. Well, at least that gave us a chance to see Gomez in action. And then Gomez hurts himself. And then Beltran, ouch! And now Wright!!

My goodness it is hard to see how we can retain our lead under these conditions, but we still keep plugging away. Arizona comes to town tonight looking for revenge against our road sweep of them, riding the biggest hot streak of the season, against our second and third stringers.
