Bring On Los Bravos

I feel like this weekend is the first real test for the Mets and will tell us what we can expect from our team this summer. It's clear that the Braves of 2007 are not rolling over like last year's team. They have fixed their bullpen issues and despite their lukewarm bats thus far have been consistently rolling over the opposition. They are feeling confident, and all Met fans know what a confident Chipper Jones and Andruw Jones can do to us.

That said, the Mets are coming into the series firing on all cylinders. The big questions circling our rotation largely seem to be answered by now. Reyes, Beltran, Wright, Alou and Green are all swinging hot bats, and Delgado seems to be breaking out of his funk in the last couple of games.

It will be a battle. It is a battle that the pre-Willie Mets never showed up for. Pelfrey vs. Hudson tonight is probably the toughest matchup for us, considering Hudson's prior successes at Shea. Can Pelfrey give us seven solid innings? Oliver Perez definitely has the goods, the only question is whether he can retain his poise. The home crowd and the bats should help in that regard. And Glavine vs. Smoltz on Sunday is the most fun matchup to watch in all of baseball.

I know it's still only April, but damn, I'm excited!
