So far....

...so good.
Only other 90+ wins needed and we're there! I thought we were solid, without needing to be any more than that. And given what happened last time we played the fish, I am happy to settle for that. David Wright looks like he's starting this season in exactly the same way as he started last - continuing a hitting streak. Long may the doubles continue!
Wasn't it great to see a starter last through to the eighth? Talk about taking a load off the bullpen. Willie could use Scotty, Wise and Sosa as 1 out men, instead of needing two innings out of them. I do believe Santana is going to be worth his weight in gold as the season progresses, not just for his superb pitching, but also his durability. Now it's time for Pedro to show his stuff and show the NL East what a real 1-2 looks like...
It was also interesting to see how aggressive we were on the bases. Both Jose and David were caught stealing, but I've never minded that. I think we cause worries by being aggressive, and I for one am pleased to see that Willie isn't going to change hat part of the gameplan after last year. There's a long way to go, and a lot of trials to be navigated but the rollercoaster has started up and there's only one thing left to say -
Let's go Mets!

It was nice to see the Mets
It was nice to see the Mets have a big inning. Beltran looking good. Wright looking good. How about the bunting by Castillo? If Castillo's wheels hold up he could be very dangerous in setting up Beltran and Wright.
A note on the Reyes caught stealing. It looked like he was safe to me on the replay. The Mets announcers thought so too. He'll get plenty more chances though.
