With the sad, sad news that Sanchez is out till August their are rumors swirling that the Mets are chasing Oriole reliver Todd Williams. He is described as a groundball pitcher if their ever was one. He is a veteran who can come in a pinch situation.
Carlos Zambrano, who could reach free agency after this season, had this to say...
"I like the Yankees, but I don't see myself pitching at Yankee Stadium. Too many rules," Zambrano told SI.com. "If I play in New York, it's going to be with the Mets. Lastings Milledge for a pitcher? Or maybe Shawn Green for a pitcher? Other teams will have injuries as well as unexpected bust players or disappointing seasons that lead them to want to deal.
The funny thing is that I was worrying about the starting rotation before spring training. Now I feel good about the starting five and have doubts about the middle innings bullpen. If the starters can do well it won't be that much of an issue.
