"Duaner Sanchez - #50 - Pitcher - 6'2" - 210lbs
News: Rehabbing reliever Duaner Sanchez was sent home Thursday for repeatedly showing up late for his workouts.
Impact: Manager Willie Randolph said Sanchez had been warned about his tardiness and added that he will consult with GM Omar Minaya to determine whether there will be additional disciplinary action. Sanchez also had some similar issues in his days with the Pirates, which is one of the reasons they gave up on him after 2003 (the bigger reason being that they're poor judges of talent). (Thu. So what does this mean? Is Willie putting on a show? Or are the Mets reaching a conclusion that they can survive without Sanchez?

The story that I read said
The story that I read said that Sanchez was banished for one day.
"And hours already had passed since Randolph had designated Duaner Sanchez "persona non grata" for a day in Mets camp."
So I think that Willie isn't giving up on Duaner. He needs to lay down the law and this is his way of doing that. Of course, we don't know what we're going to get from Duaner in '07. So the Mets might have to live without him anyway.
Ah.. Now that makes a bit more sense
The story I read had Sanchez being forced to go home, but your version makes a lot more sense. I hope that's the real story.
