I'm always trying to make it easier for everyone to stay involved in the conversation. So I was very glad to find out about and add a new feature called Watcher to the site.

This feature allows you to get email updates on post comments by clicking on a link in the post. When logged in you should see the words, "You are not watching this post, click to start watching", on each blog post and poll. Click the link and you will get updates if someone comments on the post or if the author of the post makes a change. This makes it very easy to follow the conversation even when you're away from the site.

You will want to go to your account and click on the Watched Posts tab. That's where you can manage your watched posts and customize email preferences. You can also share your watched posts on your profile if you like.

I also made a change that now allows non-registered users to comment. I'm hoping that this opens up the conversation a little more. I've got a new spam filter backing it up so I don't expect any bad effects from being more open.

As always I really want to know if you like the changes and am open to more suggestions that will make this site better for the fans.

One more thing. I've created a page for all the different updates about new features that you can find at /updates. Check this page every so often to see all the new features.

Through the magic of Google Docs I have embedded a spreadsheet with the Mets 2008 Schedule here on the site. This provides a really simple way to browse the schedule and see what games are coming up. Mets 2008 Schedule

There is a new field on the blog form that allows you to enter the link or embed code to a YouTube video. Enjoy!

Two new awesome feature additions to the clubhouse.

1. Avatar Gallery - Browse profile photos and meet other fans. As always only logged in users can see profiles. Don't have a profile pic? Upload one for heaven's sake! Go here to check it out.

2. Audio Comments - You read that right. Logged in users can reply using audio. Oh, you can do video too! You can use a headset or webcam to record. My webcam lets me do audio or video. Fun stuff. This is a new service called Riffly. This is very much a test so there may be some problems. But let's have fun and try it out. Just go to the comments section on any post and you should see the links to record audio or video.

You may have some trouble with Microsoft Internet Explorer. No worries, Firefox is free and a much better browser. Get it now at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/.

UPDATE: The audio comment feature is disabled for the moment because it was severely slowing down site load times.

A very important announcement. The call in number for podcast comments has changed. The service I was using evidently terminated the account as they have the right to do if there are a certain number of days without activity.

There is a new number at 206-333-0878. I will be sure to call in myself at least once per month so that the line can continue to stay active. But please do call in as often as you like if you have something to say.

You can now add individual image posts. There is a size limit for each photo so please don't try to upload anything over 1mb in size.

When you're logged in, go to Create content => Image to create a photo post.

I have added a new feature that will allow you to forward items on the clubhouse to your friends. When viewing a full post or page you should see and "email this" link in the footer.

You'll notice a new Player Ratings link in the Clubhouse Content menu of the sidebar.

Each player is listed on the page from the highest rating to the lowest. You can click on the last name to go to that player's profile page.

Once there you can give the player a star rating or leave a comment about the player. As the season goes on you're free to return and change your rating.
