Willis

Given that Perez is here and we can't do anything about that, look at the next option.  I just saw that the Tigers are designating Dontrelle Willis and that any team that picks him up would have to pick up his $12 million contract.  If Perez clears waivers, Detroit would have 10 days to trade, release him or option him to the minors.  Could there be any upside to trading a bad co

What would you do?

Ok play Omar for a minute. It comes to near the trade deadline and the Mets are say 8 games back of the Phillies.

What would you do?

Who would you trade?

Bye Bye Schoeneweis

The word just came down from the Front Office about a half-hour ago... Schoeneweis is no longer a New York Met. Instead of the man who basically blew any chance the Mets had on the last game of the season, the Mets get Connor Robertson from the D-backs. Who is Connor Robertson? Well I don't know either. From the press release, he has more minor league experience than major league experience. That isn't bad is it? I mean, we can use that same argument with David Wright. Anyway, Robinson last year had an 0-1 record and 5.14 ERA in six appearances. However, he had a 7-4 record and 5.02 ERA in 47 games with the D-backs Triple-A Tucson affiliate.

Corner OF Options

It seems like everybody on the other post agreed the mets need to improve their corner outfeilding positions, as church will not risk his career to rush a return to a pesky head injury and alou can't stay healthy (btw, alou just pulled his hammy diving for a ball in his AA binghampton rehap start, eraasing any chance he will be back before the break, even though he was scheduled to be back by Friday. point proven). i for one am not comfortable rotating endy chavez, marlon anderson, fernando tatis and whatever too-young minor league callup we can find for the remainder of the season, and would like to make a move to bolster our options at the corner outfeild position. so everybody put on your omar minaya thinking caps and try to come up with some possible acquisitions!

"Ladies and gentleman, we got him!"

As it says in the Mets press release, "Unless Johan Santana flunks a physical Saturday, he will become the starting pitcher the Mets desperately had needed...". Doesn't that statement sound so true?

It is going to make us forget about the Collapse of 2007? No. I don't think that all the anti-depressants in the world van help us forget that headache. But if they can win a World Series ring and a parade down the Canyon of Heroes, this will certainly help.

Lots of News!

There has been quite alot of trade talks happening around baseball and the main guy mentioned is Mister No-No Mark Buherle. The Mets are just one of 10 teams eyeing him to help their rotation. Though Omar Minaya has yet to hit the panic button and Jorge Sosa is helping him do that the Mets are still in on Buherle.
