A-Roid Did It

It's official. Alex Rodriguez juiced it up for three years with the Texas Rangers.
The New York Post reports: "Alex Rodriguez today broke his silence on the steroids question, telling ESPN that he used performance-enhancing drugs when he was with the Texas Rangers."

D-Day For Clemens
Submitted by robsafuto on Tue, 02/12/2008 - 23:03Am I sick of the whole steroid controversy? Yes. Am I sick of Roger Clemens? Yes. Would I rather focus on the upcoming season? Yes.
That said, I'm sure I'll surf over to WFAN in the morning at 10AM to listen to Roger Clemens and Brian Macnamee testify before a congressional committee.
I keep having these images run through my head of Mike Piazza getting drilled on the helmet and of Clemens firing that broken bat at Mike during the 2000 World Series. Roid rage? Who knows.
Everything I've seen, from the phony recorded phone call to the door-to-door lobbying on Capitol Hill have convinced me that Rog isn't talking straight. So maybe I'm looking for a pound of flesh but some answers that make sense would satisfy me too.

D-Day For Clemens is January 16th
Submitted by robsafuto on Fri, 01/04/2008 - 18:15It is now being widely reported that Roger Clemens, his trainer Brian Macnamee and former Mets employee Kirk Radomski are being called to testify before Congress on January 16th.
All I can say is that this will make for some dramatic television. I may have to call in sick so I can watch the festivities.
As a prelude you can watch Roger The Dodger bob and weave on 60 Minutes this coming Sunday night.
"Clemens has denied that and the congressional hearing was called to question him about the factual issues he has raised with the report. He is scheduled to appear on the CBS program “60 Minutes” on Sunday."
"According to CBS, when Wallace asked Clemens if McNamee had injected him with any drugs, Clemens responded: “Lidocaine and B12. It’s for my joints, and B12 I still take today.”"
Oh brother!

Roger Clemens Is In Denial
Submitted by robsafuto on Sun, 12/23/2007 - 21:38Indeed he is. If Andy Pettite can admit it why can't Roger? I think one reason is that Andy isn't a candidate for the hall of fame.
Facts are facts. Brian Macnamee obviously didn't lie about Andy Pettite. So why would he lie about Rocket? No one else who was named by Macnamee is claiming innocence. In spite of the fact that Macnamee and Radomski got special treatment they are still going to jail. And if they perjured themselves they will get longer sentences.

Checkin It Twice
Submitted by robsafuto on Thu, 12/13/2007 - 14:30I'm listening to WFAN this afternoon and plan on listening to the Mitchell Report at 2PM Eastern today. We've already heard some of the names. The Yankees are getting creamed with Clemens, Pettite, Damon and Giambi on the list. But what of the Mets?
We already know about Guillermo Mota. I have to wonder if Mike Piazza (one of my favorite all time Mets) is on the list. And if so what does it really mean.
I'd love to hear some comments on the list and what the whole issue means to you as a fan. If there are Mets on the list we should definitely talk about that.
