The Mets have reportedly sign Francisco Rodriguez to a three-year, $37-million deal today. While the money may have been a little more than I would have liked, I think this was a move that the Mets needed to get done, especially when you consider that the 9th inning was what kept us out of the postseason again this year. I still like that Omar is making these big moves though, these are moves that I feel must be made to put last season behind us.

Good on the Mets for extending Rick Peterson as well. The Braves built a National League East dynasty on pitching. Why the heck can't the Mets? Well I think we have a great chance.

One can't help but look at the young arms getting ready for the starting rotation and think that there has to be some sort of Glavine/Maddux type combo in there.

The Mets have signed Ruben Sierra to a minor league deal. Is it me or is this team getting older?
