Get Pumped
Submitted by Phoola on Thu, 09/27/2007 - 21:15.It's a four game season and the Mets are staked a one game lead. We are facing two of the worst teams in the league and have Pedro on the mound tonight. We follow him with Glavine, Maine and Perez.
I like our odds.
Let's go Mets!

Every Win Is A Grind
Submitted by robsafuto on Sat, 09/22/2007 - 12:58.Is it me or are even wins excruciatingly painful. Injuries, rain delays and assorted drama are taking their toll on me.
The Phillies are doing what they have do and beating the bad teams in the National League East. So why the hell aren't the Mets doing that?
This team has a screw loose right now. The bats have been producing runs but they are making foolish errors and the bullpen is a black hole. How can a playoff team make as many errors as The Mets have made this week?
All of a sudden we are in a sprint to the finish in this division. This is really a test of the team and our skipper Willie Randolph. They need to play well and Willie needs to make his best decisions. If that doesn't happen our Mets might be spending October on the sidelines.

Somebody Call A Doctor
Submitted by robsafuto on Wed, 09/19/2007 - 01:44.So much for Philadelphia conceding the division. I can't believe that they are back in the race. But they are. The Mets have made it so with four straight losses, with a fifth loss waiting in the wings.
Personally I have been out of the loop with respect to posting and podcasts due to personal reasons for the past couple of weeks. I have been following the team though. And my orange and blue stripes have been hurting over the past week.
How the heck do we lose three more to the Phils? How do we then go to Washington and proceed to fall apart as well? I have no answers right now.

off the ledge
Submitted by Phoola on Mon, 09/03/2007 - 22:16.Well, that's more like it. A lot of us had practically left this team for dead four days ago but they are now putting on a display of exceptional baseball. Lets hope it lasts for a few more games - a monster streak to start the month of September would be most welcome.

Welcome To September
Submitted by robsafuto on Sun, 09/02/2007 - 22:48.Welcome to September baseball folks. The good news out of Florida tonight is that the Phillies lost 7-6 to the Marlins which means that we've gained a pair of games in the standings over the past two days.
I think it is going to be an exciting month. Hopefully not too exciting, especially if the Mets are able to turn things around and win most of their games.
Sweeping the Braves is a good sign. Delgado is thawing out. Mike Pelfrey could provide us a much needed boost either as a starter or out of the bullpen.
There's plenty of work to do. Jose Reyes is slumping. Billy Wagner will probably give us heart attacks. And the team has been getting caught way too much on the basepaths. I'm looking to Willie Randolph to figure out how to effectively use his bullpen.

Ya Gotta Believe (even when it's hard)
Submitted by sgtwarbucks on Thu, 08/30/2007 - 06:47.While I share the frustration of watching the 7 game lead over the Phillies slip to 3, as wise man named Tug McGraw said "Ya Gotta Believe".
While belief isn't blind faith in your team, i still believe that the Mets will hold off the Phillies and Braves and clinch the National League East. Do I think that they'll win the NL Pennant? Not so confident on that one.

Lest We Forget
