opening day
Opening Day Outlook, Roster, Strengths/Weaknesses, Expectations, and Keys for 09
Submitted by 11dorisa on Sun, 04/05/2009 - 14:57Today is one of my favorite days of the year, opening day. While the Mets don't start until tommorow, the Phillies play tonight and so we can root for them to lose! Regardless, the Mets are about to embark on a 162 game voyage, and nobody knows how it's going to wind up. There will be twists and turns, ups and downs, injuries and cold/hot streaks, suprising sleepers and dissapointing busts, wins and losses, and probably lots of drama along the way. But whatever happens, I'm sure it will be a lot of fun to watch, so hang on to your hats, the roller coaster is about to begin!

Opening Day plea
Submitted by jmy9595 on Mon, 03/30/2009 - 10:41Being in Minnesota, I doubt it'll be on any kind of national TV here, especially since we open on the road, but is there anyone able and willing to record the Opening Day at Citi Field activities for me? Ceremonies, game, wrap-up, etc. Ideally this would be someone with a DVD recorder who could burn it right to a DVD, but, if not, VHS is fine and I can burn it myself.
Naturally, I'd reimburse for any expenses and postage and would be eternally grateful. Either send me a message here (I think there's a message option here, not sure) or at jmy9595@gmail.com. Thanks.

So far....
Submitted by English Met fro... on Tue, 04/01/2008 - 12:59...so good.
Only other 90+ wins needed and we're there! I thought we were solid, without needing to be any more than that. And given what happened last time we played the fish, I am happy to settle for that. David Wright looks like he's starting this season in exactly the same way as he started last - continuing a hitting streak. Long may the doubles continue!

Play Ball!
Submitted by Phoola on Mon, 03/31/2008 - 14:32Hiho! It is the day we have been awaiting for six months. Clean slate. No more hot stove conjecture, no more dwelling on a historic collapse, no more wondering about what kind of team we are going to field. It's here!
I have been thinking about opening day for a few weeks now. It always makes me feel like a kid again, when this whole drama is about to unfold before you and you just can't wait to be take along for the ride. Take me, Mets. Just make it a fun one, OK?

Let's Go Mets!
Submitted by English Met fro... on Mon, 03/31/2008 - 08:19Hello from the other side of the pond! Got up today like a kid at Christmas - Opening Day 08, and at last, a chance to forget the train wreck that was last September and look forward to another season of quality baseball at Shea. It will be 9pm here when Johan steps out onto the mound and gets his 20 win season underway, and I'll be sat watching on the big screen, thanks to a digital projector and a broadband connection. All together now...Let's Go Mets!

Ticket Auction for Opening Day and Yanks Series
Submitted by robsafuto on Tue, 02/06/2007 - 20:15I really can't figure the Mets out. They instituted a mysterious raffle for playoff tickets last season. I threw my name in the hopper and got nothing, although I did have other chances to go to games.
Now they are instituting another mystery raffle for opening day and the three games against the Yankees. I just don't like it.
