Oliver Perez

Perez Or Bust
Submitted by robsafuto on Tue, 01/13/2009 - 16:20Now that the pursuit of Derek Lowe is over it's time to focus on Ollie Perez. Word is that Lowe will get $60 million over 4 years with the Braves.
"The Atlanta Braves were closing in on a $60 million, four-year deal with Lowe, a person familiar with the negotiations told the Associated Press. That is way above the last reported offer from the Mets, which was for three years, $36 million."
There's always Randy Wolf. I think I'd rather have Ollie (as nutty and unreliable as he is) back for 2009. How about you?

The Return Of Oliver Perez

He's baaack! It cannot be a fluke at this point. Oliver Perez has worked something out and has become the most dominant pitcher in the Mets rotation.

In Defense Of Ollie
Submitted by Phoola on Tue, 05/08/2007 - 14:26Despite what one might think from looking at the line score, I think Oliver Perez pitched a pretty solid game last night. He was cruising through the first four and retired the first nine straight. As it was, he got charged with two earned runs.

Feeling Better Today
Submitted by robsafuto on Sat, 04/21/2007 - 19:13I was in Penn Station last night and saw the forlorn coming through after Friday nights loss at Shea. One couldn't help feel like the hex was back.
The Mets were 1-3 against the Braves coming into the game today and it's almost hard to believe that we are battling them instead of the Phillies this early in the season.
So once again the road leads through Atlanta.

The Line leap was in affect
Submitted by rurahgomets on Fri, 04/06/2007 - 22:50OLI OLI OLI OLI......... Oliver Perez had quite the amazing outing today. As you all know by know I am a huge Perez supporter. If you have followed him in the last few years you can see the small changes he has been making in his pitching delivery. There seems to be much more consitency in his pitching delivery ( we did not see any wacky pauses this time) Lets keep it up Metropolitans.. 4-0..

the big, the bad, the bullpen
Submitted by rurahgomets on Sat, 03/10/2007 - 21:22I the beginning of spring all us Met fans were extremely optimistic about the strength of our bullpen. Now the spring training is in full swing we are starting to experience some issues. Hopefully this is just rust that needs to be worn off rather then a issue for the 2007 campaign. Another suprise seems to be Oliver Perez.

Perez Starts Slow
Submitted by robsafuto on Wed, 02/28/2007 - 20:56The today game will mean nothing in the grand scheme of things for the 2007 season, but damn if I wasn't interested in the outcome.
I really wanted to hear how Oliver Perez did. Not so hot evidently, giving up four runs early. Oh well. It's just the first of many. Soon they'll count so I guess this is the time to work out all the kinks.

Perez to start and AWAY WE GO!
Submitted by BigDom on Mon, 02/26/2007 - 14:18On Wensday Febuary 28th, Oliver Perez will start the first Mets spring training game. It will be an exibition game against the Tigers at 1pm and it will be shown on SNY.
This is it when Perez throws his first pitch the Mets season has arrived and it will be nothing but Mets baseball for the next 8 months. I can't wait!!!!!!!
