El Duque

El Do-Que
Submitted by robsafuto on Wed, 07/18/2007 - 09:21Talk about a savior. El Duque has had a few poor outings but a lot more impressive ones this season.
Last night he did it with every tool he's got. He pitched a great game. Got a hit. Stole a base. Scored a run. Heck, Duque is hitting .226 which is better than Lastings Milledge and creeping up on Jose Valentin.

Got What We Needed
Submitted by robsafuto on Sat, 05/26/2007 - 08:23We got what we needed last night in the win vs. the Florida Marlins. For the most part at least.
We got a win, combined with an Atlanta loss to Philadelphia. So we get a game back in the standings.
We got a sharp outing from Orlando Hernandez, who just returned from the DL. That makes me feel good. Pitching is still strong.

Mets Win. Duque and Valentin Banged Up.
Submitted by robsafuto on Sun, 04/29/2007 - 16:47The Mets took the series from the Washington Nationals today on great pitching by John Maine and a Carlos Beltran home run.
I'm concerned about the Mets offense, which is still weak even though they have won the last two games. But at least we found a way to win and keep pace with the Braves.

Starting Pitching wins projection

Tom Glavine- 16 wins
El Duque- 13 wins
John Maine-17 wins
Oliver Perez- 13 wins
Mike Pelfrey- 10 wins
*** Pedro Martinez***- 2 wins

The El Duque Factor
Submitted by robsafuto on Tue, 04/03/2007 - 20:06Is there a more important starter in the Mets pitching staff? Tom Glavine is important but we expect him to be good since he's motivated to get 300 wins this season.
We need Duque to help give us a nice 1-2 punch and take some pressure off the young guys in the 3 thru 5 spots in the rotation.

Things Starting To Clear Up
Submitted by robsafuto on Sat, 03/24/2007 - 09:55Looks like we have a rotation solidified. And that's what we need to start the season.
Duque looked strong yesterday. Signs in general are good for the start of the season.
1. Tom Glavine
2. Orlando 'El Duque' Hernandez
3. John Maine
4. Oliver Perez
5. Mike Pelfrey

Not again!
Submitted by BigDom on Thu, 02/22/2007 - 16:41Today I read an article at mets.com
Orlando Hernandez has reported to New York to get his neck examined after experiencing pains in his neck. Both Omar and Willie see no reason to be concerned.
