Carlos Beltran

Inauspicious Start to 2010

As awful as 2009 was for the Mets, at least it went out on a high note; the Mets signed Jason bay to a long term deal and appeared to be making some headway this offseason.

Carlos Beltran Surgery

We've yet to begin spring training and the injury parade has begun with Carlos Beltran sure to miss all of spring training (and probably the first month of the season) after having had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee. MLB.com delivers the awful news.

Casting Blame

There aren't many good things to point to in the way that the Mets are playing right now. As of this writing they are 2 - 9 in the month of June.

A slew of injuries and updates

Good Evening all. Lets Get Down to Buisness.

As the first 1/3 of the season comes to a close all teams look at their teams to see what needs to be fixed and the next two months will be when they try to fix it.

%$#@! Injuries

It is unbelievable how these injuries are piling up lately. Pedro starts the season on the DL, we all expected that. Alou, well, we all expected he would be spending some time on the DL this season. Then Valentin goes down, but at least Easley has been stepping up relatively well, especially with some clutch hits early on to build our confidence in him.

Player Of The Week

While A-Rod gets all the attention across town, Carlos Beltran has been quietly asserting himself as the best all-around player in the National League early in this season. He usually takes a couple of months to get hot but this season he came out of the gate blazing, at or near the league best in average, OPS, and RBI, all the while making eye-popping plays in center field.
