Sitrep (Situation Report) from the Weekend Series vs The Cardinals

As I promised Rob on the chat, i am reporting in with my impressions of this weekends series against the Cardinals.
I went to the Saturday night and Sunday afternoon games with my brother-in-law and nephew, both rabid Mets fans. We got to Shea early on Saturday, via the Number 7 (my favorite way to get to the stadium). Lots of autograph seekers and some must have read my earlier post on the proper way to get an autograph, as they weren't screaming at the players! We opted for foot long dogs, and settled into our seats (Mezz level). And boy, we weren't disappointed. A marathon game of 14 innings, and as my nephew put it even though we didn't win it, it was an exciting game.
Carlos Delgado absolutely rocked with his home runs, and even Brendan Knight's first inning jitters wasn't really a bad thing, as he didn't give up any more runs for rest of his contribution to the game. Sure Albert Pujols stuck it to us in the top of the 14th, but folks it was the top of the 14th! I'm pretty sure everybody was ready to get the heck out of there. Lots of people took off after the 9th, and even more left after Pujols hit his homer. But come on folks, YOU GOTTA BELIEVE!
We stuck it out right to the bitter (and pretty exhausting) end. Alot of people were dozing on the express number 7 back to Mid-Town Manhattan. Overall a loss, but you only pay for for 9 innings, so after that you're watching for free!
Sundays game started out under a downpour, but we hustled into Shea from the station and found out that we were going to be under the Upper Reserve overhang, so we didn't fear the rain or the sun. And we were rewarded with some outstanding hitting and defensive playing. Who would have believed Carlos Beltran would "pull an Endy" by robbing a home run from the Cardinals with a fantastic catch in deep center. And we're still in first place.
So the Sitrep is Good; VERY GOOD!
Let's Go Mets!

Nice Work
Thanks for translating the game experience for us. I stayed up late to watch the end of the game myself on Saturday night. I missed most of Sunday's game due to the power outage. I caught the highlights this morning before work by watching Mets Fast Forward on SNY.
