So i'm currently deployed to Antarctic (long story....if you want the long version, hit me up with a message), and as i'm leaving the dining hall in my Michigan State University sweatshirt (you don't JUST wear T-shirts down here) and my Mets hat, out of the blue i hear "Let's Go Mets!"

Anybody going to Citi (i'm just going to call is SHEA ANYWAY) Field for the final series between the Phillies and the Mets?  Playing hookey on Monday for the final game of the year....should be interesting!!

Anybody else see the Mets get robbed by poor umpire position during Jeff Francouer's stolen base that ended up being NOT a stolen base?

A two hour drive to Croton-on-Hudson, an hour long train ride to Grand Central Station, a 30 minute train ride to Flushing and $200 later i get to watch the third string line up for the Mets.  WTF?????

Another sign of the coming Apocalypse....the Mets sign Gary Sheffield.......

My lovely wife, a life long Tigers fan called it what it is...."Passing the Trash!!"

The Mets need Sheffield's attitude and work ethic like a hole in the head.  A guy that admits to throwing balls away in Milwaukee so that they'd trade him? 

Not worth the money, not worth the headaches, not worth the time!

Hey everybody,
sorry for a lack of me "weighing in" on the weighty METS news over the past couple of months. I was deployed, but not away from the internet!
Prior to leaving for deployment, i ordered 2 green (Mezz) seats from Shea, as the orange and blue went very quickly. They showed up just about 2 weeks ago, and i arrived home this morning. Do you think i would have torn into them before i hug my wife? I haven't opened them up as of yet, because of an email i received while i was gone.
Am i wrong or are they actually selling new seats from Citi (or whatever you wanna call it....let's just say "New Shea") Stadium? What's the point of buying a seat that has NO history?

I know it's a short notice, but Rob and I are meeting up at Shea on Saturday. Anybody else going to be there this weekend?

We can meetup for dogs at the park, or lunch at the Pine (Holiday Inn Flushing, right across from the Third Base/Left Field Parking Lot).

As I promised Rob on the chat, i am reporting in with my impressions of this weekends series against the Cardinals.

I went to the Saturday night and Sunday afternoon games with my brother-in-law and nephew, both rabid Mets fans. We got to Shea early on Saturday, via the Number 7 (my favorite way to get to the stadium). Lots of autograph seekers and some must have read my earlier post on the proper way to get an autograph, as they weren't screaming at the players! We opted for foot long dogs, and settled into our seats (Mezz level). And boy, we weren't disappointed. A marathon game of 14 innings, and as my nephew put it even though we didn't win it, it was an exciting game.
