Big win tonight. Always good to beat the Yanks, especially in the stadium. More important, the Mets beat a legit good team on the road which means this may be for real. Big Pelf going tomorrow. Let's Go Mets!
First of all, let me say I am stunned that none of these 3 games is on national TV. Not a one. Not on ESPN Sun. night (yes, I know it's a day game), not on Fox, not on MLB Network, nothing. So I'm stuck with the ESPN Gamecast. Francesa was saying this morning that the Yankees didn't like something Reyes was hotdogging about last night (or maybe it was in general) and that because of that or K-Rod's on-field celebrations he wouldn't be surprised to see Reyes get plunked. Well, I hope he had a good view of Reyes' 2 HRs so far, including leading off the game.
Teixeira hasn't had a hit in 3 months, has to go tying it up, figures. I wish I could see this game, know if Pelfrey's got it or not. I don't like all this Yankee basepath traffic I'm seeing anyway.
Guess I was right about the basepath traffic. A sweep was unrealistic--I hated the idea of having to take a 7-game winning streak into Yankee Stadium since we never seem to push a streak past 8 or 9. There's still Sunday to take the season series 4-2.
God, does Atlanta ever lose? It was KC but still. I'm having a hard time seeing them as the team to beat in this division--it's starting to feel like the late 90s all over again.
Never mind, always got to give the Yankees the last word. Doesn't matter how old or slumping any Yankee is, they can always put it together against us. And there goes Atlanta coming back against KC. Does anyone have ANY doubt how that'll end? 7-6, 6-5, 9-8, (x+1) to x, but guess who'll wind up with x + 1.

It seems like the best the Mets can do in the Subway Series is split. I remember one year when the Mets swept at Shea Stadium. I was there for all three games. The Mets have had a good run at late so hopefully they can pick it up again at home. All in all Johan was still pretty good today, sticking it out after giving up the grand slam to Teixeira. I knew that was going to happen. I had a bad feeling about it. Oh well, we can start another run at Citi this week.
With regards to the other teams in the NL East. It's obvious that this is going to be a very competitive year in the division. That's why wins in division will be huge for the Mets. We can't count on other teams to beat the Braves and the Phillies. We've got to do it ourselves.

Another Subway Series Split
