Last week Jose Reyes had surgery on one of his precious wheels.
"Mets shortstop Jose Reyes underwent successful surgery to eliminate scar tissues in his right leg Thursday morning in Dallas. Reyes should be fully recovered and ready to participate in all activities in training camp in February."

Yay, successful surgery. I am still a little skeptical though. I don't know if Reyes will be at 90-95% speed next year or slower than that. I think the Mets should hedge and look to add someone who has good speed in the off season. Speed never slumps after all. What do you think about Reyes' return next year?

Reyes
Glad but I'll believe it when I see it. Suppose he's only at 75-80% of the Reyes of old. Does that make him a force or just a little bit better than average bet to beat out an infield single? I suspect the latter. Speed has to be real speed to be a factor and I suspect that on any day in 2010 he'd lose a race to Rickey Henderson. Rickey of 2010.
