Johan Santana's Elbow

I know that things have been going pretty good so far for the Mets this spring but the talk about Johan Santana's elbow has definitely got me on edge. In my mind any kind of nagging arm injury to Santana could derail the Mets chances of improving over their record last season. Santana was huge for us last year and I think we're going to need that kind of effort again.
The news appeared to get better yesterday when the Mets cancelled Johan's MRI after Johan said he felt fine. It sounds good but there's something in me that makes me very skeptical of high performing pitchers who say they're fine after reports of elbow problems. Johan is a top level competitor and he may think that he'll be alright after a few days rest. I sure hope so.
There's also a bit of news today about a he said, she said going on between Johan and Mets pitching coach Dan Warthen. The New York Post is reporting that Warthen thinks Santana over threw while prepping for the World Baseball Classic. Meanwhile, Johan Santana seems to think that the pain was caused by Warthen's rigorous bullpen routine for his pitchers.
