I know. It's a little early to be fretting about 2009. But word is out on the planned prices at Citi Field. They're high. And remember that Citi has 15,000 fewer seats than Shea.
The New York Post is reporting that lower deck seats will range from $125 to $479 a piece. Overall ticket prices will go up 79%. I guess the days of the $10 upper deck seats to a "bronze" game are over. According to the NY Post story, "Reserved seats in the upper deck at Citi Field, called the Promenade, will average $19."
If you (or your company) has a few bucks to spare, one of the forty-nine luxury boxes is still available for up to $500,000.

sheesh
i am very happy about citi feild, it looks awesome, and as memory filled as shea is it is definetly not an elite ballpark, but those ticket prices are insane. 130 bucks minimum for lower deck? come on. i live in philly (ironic, isn't it?) and won't get to see the mets accept when they play at CBP, so they don't affect me, but i guess all new york mets fans are going to have to pay for the feild and our organizations free-spending ways.
