I'm getting worried about the bullpen. And I'm worried about John Maine. With Pedro Martinez a big question mark the last thing we need is another problem. We can still win the next two in the series and come away ahead.

You're right Rob, John Maine needs to go deeper into games because the bullpen has been bad of late. Especially Joe Smith,Duaner Sanchez, and Scott Shoenweiss.

this bullpen is by and far our biggest weakness right now. maybe once Billy is 100% healed and starts pitching lights out, the rest will follow. but every time i see Feliciano up now, i get worried; and every time Shoenweiss is up, 4 runs score. it's becoming a real concern and i hope Jerry can do something about this.

Mike Pelfrey looked like the guy from back in May last night. Strangely enough, the last time Mr. Pelfrey pitched like that was against the Marlins. I'm hoping it was a one time hiccup and that he'll get back on his horse. Stamina is a bit of a concern at this point in the season. Pelfrey has yet to complete a full season as a major league pitcher. With all of his success lately the innings have been getting up there.
Yes, the bullpen is inconsistent. Scott Schoeneweis pitched very well earlier this season. Him and Feliciano are sooo important to the Mets success. We need lefties out of the bullpen for the seventh and eighth innings. We may see Omar make a deal today to address that issue.
