The Return Of Oliver Perez

He's baaack! It cannot be a fluke at this point. Oliver Perez has worked something out and has become the most dominant pitcher in the Mets rotation.
The numbers don't lie. Perez has a 1.36 ERA over his last five starts. The Mets are 4-1 in those games. You could argue that Perez' resurgence started on June 7th against San Diego. The Mets lost that game 2-1 but Perez gave up only one earned run in 5 1/3 innings. He confused the Texas Rangers in his next start, but then tripped up against the Angels and Seattle before starting this current run.
With El Duque pretty much history and Pedro Martinez perpetually questionable, the Mets need good performances from every other starter. You can't deny that Oliver Perez has done his part to support the team.
