Mike Pelfrey pitches yet another gem. Carlos Delgado homers. Four hits for Endy Chavez. Duaner Sanchez fails to get an out but Joe Smith and Aaron Heilman get it done. I can't forget Argenis Reyes who is really coming around. Oh, and the Braves creamed the Phillies. The Marlins won so the Mets are in first ahead of the Marlins and Phillies by 2 games. I think we can really take care of some business this weekend.

I knew Mike Pelfrey was gonna come out and throw great. you can't say enough about what Dan Werthen has done with Pelfrey and Ollie. With that being said I'm not too worried about Sanchez because the offense is clicking and the rest of the bullpen is pulling their weight. It's good to show dominance over the Cardinals but I want to see the Mets and what they're made of against the surging Brew Crew. Then we'll truly see if the Mets are a championship team.

I really hate it when the Mets lose a game in which so much energy was expended. The Mets went through eight pitchers, had 17 hits, left a lot of guys on base, came from behind twice, and it was all for nothing. I can hardly blame Aaron Heilman. The Mets had their chances to win the game after the ninth inning. They just didn't get the clutch hit. Marlins and Phillies won and the least is 1 game. Welcome to the playoff race. Let's go get 'em in twelve hours.

Johan pitched a complete game, giving our tired bullpen an extra day's rest. Excellent effort by the Mets today. We're a game and a half up now.

Another strong effort by Santana. Also nice to see the Mets bounce back and make those runs count against the Cards best pitcher. The Phillies won but the Marlins lost. On to Florida.
