The Mets play four games in Atlanta this week. Today's game is a day/night double header with the day game making up for a rain out from April 4th. These games are huge!
The Mets have a chance to show everyone that the wins at the Yankees were no mirage. And a good showing in this series, could mean that the Mets vault into first place over Florida.
Three out of four is the minimum acceptable record in this series as far as I'm concerned. To heck with it being Turner Field. The Mets are better than the Braves and they need to go out and show that this week.

I hate to say it...
....I think this is what we should expect all season long....a big "series win" and then let downs the next. A pattern has emerged with this team since the end of last year and I hate to say it, I don't think that this team is that good.

Yea, JN, its not looking that great if we can't beat the Braves. Not to mention the fact that we have a losing record on the road, and if you can't win on the road, you are not a championship team. But, hey, its not even the all-star break yet, who knows. We totally choked on a big one last season, so who is to know it won't be the opposite this season.
The worst part about losing to the Braves is when I have to go back to school the next day (in Atlanta) and here all the idiots giving me crap. Oh well.
I still think it is too early to give up.
p.s. I am gradually losing faith in Willie. I'm not sure if he is the right coach for this team who I think is lacking in discipline. Next season, looking a little far ahead, we need to get some quality young guys, or even just decent, and tell Delgado and Pedro to hit the road, and maybe some others, because this team, with the exception of 2, is pretty gosh darn old.
I don't know, just a little rant.

You now know how I felt as a kid going to school in Queens when most of my friends were Yankee fans. It wasn't until my senior year in high school (1986 of course) that I finally got some respect. Then everyone wanted on the bandwagon. Unfortunately as Mets fans we learn to endure the many mediocre and poor seasons while cherishing the few triumphant years we get.
