Zambrano

I hear that the Cubs are going to shop Zambrano in the off season. I know he has had a few injuries this season and can be very mad and crazy, but i think he would be a perfect pick up for the Mets to follow Santana in the rotation.

Move Maine to the pen and go with a rotation of

Santana

Zambrano

Pelfrey

Perez

Neise.

Hold On A Second

Move Maine to the pen? In what role? I disagree under any circumstances. John Maine has too much talent to be turned into the next Aaron Heilman. I always thought the Mets should've kept Aaron a starter. He did pitch a 1 hitter after all. Then there's John Maine. One surgery doesn't finish him. Not by a long shot. If they want to trade Maine in a deal for a top starter (not my preference) that's one thing. But a move to the pen would be a waste.

Maine

My reasoning about moving Maine to the pen is that he has said he doesn't think the pain in his shoulder will ever go, and one day its fine adn another day its not. He doesn't know what its like from one day to the next, so if he goes into the pen you can use him when his shoulder is fine and it puts less pressure on it using him for a couple of innings instead of getting him to start on a night his shoulder could be bad and he only goes 3 innnings and gives up a few runs because he can't locate his pitches.
