Opening Day plea

jmy9595's picture

Being in Minnesota, I doubt it'll be on any kind of national TV here, especially since we open on the road, but is there anyone able and willing to record the Opening Day at Citi Field activities for me?  Ceremonies, game, wrap-up, etc.  Ideally this would be someone with a DVD recorder who could burn it right to a DVD, but, if not, VHS is fine and I can burn it myself.

Naturally, I'd reimburse for any expenses and postage and would be eternally grateful.  Either send me a message here (I think there's a message option here, not sure) or at jmy9595@gmail.com.  Thanks.

Recording Opening Day

I have a cable TV DVR and I plan on recording the festivities but have no way to get the video transferred to DVD. There is another option for you that would cost a few dollars. You could sign up for a $14.95 monthly MLB TV subscription for one month and I believe that you would be able to watch the archived game after the fact. I don't know if these videos include all of the pre and post game activities though. It's worth a look I think. http://mlb.tv

I haven't checked the link

I haven't checked the link yet, didn't know they have a month-by-month option (if they indeed do).  I'll check later from home...if not, I'd gladly reimburse you if you could record an extra VHS off the DVR.

DVR To VHS

My DVR does have a "copy to VHS" option. I've never tried it but I will see if it works and let you know. Also, there is a private messaging system here so you shouldn't need to give out your email address.

DVRs

With my DVR (Comcast), you just play the DVR and record to DVD or VHS like any other broadcast signal.  Keep it on your DVR a few days anyway, let me see what I can work out.

MLB TV

For those of you who can't watch out of market games, I would reccomend getting MLB TV from MLB.com. I just got it and i love it, you can watch any game from any team live so long as it's not on TV already, and you can also track your fantasy team, get live highlights when your favorite players come up to bat, watch up to 4 games at once, choose between the home commentators or the away commentators, and even pause-rewind live game action. It's 80 bucks for the regular and 110 bucks for the Premium, which has a few more features, but if you watch say 40 games a year it's only like 2 bucks a game! I think it is well worth it so if you want to be able to watch nearly any Mets game, get it!

MLB At Bat App

I paid $9.99 for the MLB At Bat application for my iPod Touch (also works on iPhone) and I'm happy with it so far. You can keep track of the boxscores and pitch-by-pitch action for all games. You can watch video highlights as well. A special bonus for 2009 is the inclusion of Gameday Audio in the price of the app. So you can listen to the home (and some away) radio broadcasts of the games. This is a good deal if you're frequently in range of a wifi network.
