Trade Deadline - We Got Castillo!
Submitted by BigDom on Mon, 07/30/2007 - 20:29.Today the Mets made a deal with the twins to bring Luis Castillo to New York. The Mets sent AA catcher Drew Butera and High A outfielder Dustin Martin. This will solve our second base problem for the time being and maybe the whole two slot in the lineup.

The Mets are just one of 10 teams eyeing him to help their rotation. Though Omar Minaya has yet to hit the panic button and Jorge Sosa is helping him do that the Mets are still in on Buherle.

Well you can't blame the Mets for not trying afterall they beat the Twins up and down Queens before they let the Twins beat them up to Minnesota and back.

Today was the rubber game of the Brewers series with Oliver Perez on the mound. It was an exciting pitchers duel for the first 10 seconds before the Mets proved why they had the most dominant lineup in the National League.

Omar is talkin

Yes, out rotation is better than excpected so far. On the surface.
Looking deeper you see many problems.
1. Tom Glavine and El Duque are both on in years. El Duque has been quite prown to injury and Glavine is 41.

Submitted by BigDom on Wed, 03/28/2007 - 17:45.With the sad, sad news that Sanchez is out till August their are rumors swirling that the Mets are chasing Oriole reliver Todd Williams. He is described as a groundball pitcher if their ever was one. He is a veteran who can come in a pinch situation.

Perez to start and AWAY WE GO!
Submitted by BigDom on Mon, 02/26/2007 - 18:18.On Wensday Febuary 28th, Oliver Perez will start the first Mets spring training game. It will be an exibition game against the Tigers at 1pm and it will be shown on SNY.
This is it when Perez throws his first pitch the Mets season has arrived and it will be nothing but Mets baseball for the next 8 months. I can't wait!!!!!!!

Orlando Hernandez has reported to New York to get his neck examined after experiencing pains in his neck. Both Omar and Willie see no reason to be concerned.
