Down the Stretch

Apparently the mets are going to be involved in another fight down the stretch this year, only this time with 3 teams! hopefully this year will have better results than last. but the following facts are all in our favor, meaning that i think we have the edge to overcome our 3 game defecit and take the division. consider that...
1. Out of all three teams, the mets opponents from here on out have the lowest winning percentage. so frankly, the teams we're playing from here on out aren't as good as teh teams's their playing.
2. we have drastically more home games than they do. as a sort of "farewell tour" to shea, the MLB distributed more of our road games earlier in the season so we could have more home games as the season winds down. this means that we have over 20 home games in the final month and our final 3 series of the season are all at shea. the phillies, on the other hand, have almost twice as many road games as home games remaining and he marlins are a 50-50 split.
3. From here on out, each time we play the philies or marlins, it wil be at shea. no more CBP!
because of this favorable schedule, and frankly since i think we are better so long as maine and church can come back healthy and injuries don't keep holding us down, i think we will win the division. i am an optimist though and it will certainly be very close.

Good Fortune
due to the opponent's winning percentage and the abundance of home games, there's good reason to believe the Mets might do something. Two things need to happen though, the bullpen has to settle down (let's hope that Kunz will pitch great) and the offense has to do better than going 1 for 10 with RISP. i have tickets to the August 9th game, i hope the Mets might be able to put on a little streak between now and then.
