Turning it around?

What a reversal! I don't know if anyone saw the game tonight, but to me it was the most exciting Mets victory since Omir Santos' walk off against the Red Sox. not only was it our sixth straight win, not only did it keep up the black jersey + jason bay = win vibe, but it showed we can handle adversity.

Bernie Madoff???? WHAT'S NEXT???

Hey guys, I haven't posted on here in months and months, but I used to be a regular so I figured I'd come back and offer my thoughts. Just 8 days until pitchers and catchers, and MY PACKERS JUST WON THE SUPER BOWL!!!!! So I figured I'd enjoy my honeymoon but try to get back in the swing of things as well.

Why the Mets Must Not Trade Jeff Francouer

Exactly one year ago to the week, Jeff Francouer was struggling. He was hitting under .270 for the Atlanta Braves. Even though the fans loved their hometown hero, the Braves thought he was so done that they not only traded him away for an uninspiring journeyman outfielder, but they did it to their cross-town rival New York Mets.

Things Looking Bleak

I'm usually an optimist, but I have no happy thoughts about the mets right now. things are not looking good. remember when we had gone on a 9 game winning streak and had just clobbered the phillies? when we were in 1st place in the NL east at 14-9? well since then we've gone 4-9, an even worse skid than the one we opened the season with.

Keys to Success in 2010

Last year at about this time I made a lengthy post outlining what I expected from the 2009 team and what we would need to do to compete. My number 1 "key to success" was our ability to stay healthy. Boy, was that prohetic or what? So naturally this is what will lead off my list of what the Mets must do to have success in 2010:

Inauspicious Start to 2010

As awful as 2009 was for the Mets, at least it went out on a high note; the Mets signed Jason bay to a long term deal and appeared to be making some headway this offseason.

Omar, Bernazard, the Wilpons, Rubin, and the Mets public relations circus

The Mets tried to get rid of a distraction today by firing Tony Bernazzard, and somehow turned this into a bigger distraction. While at the press conference announcing the firing, Omar Minaya criticized Mets blogger Adam Rubin, who first broke the story of Bernazard's outbreak. the whole story can be found here:

New Strategy: Bubblewrap

What the hell is with the Mets and getting injured? Beltran was placed on the DL today with a knee briuse he got 3 weeks ago. Jose Reyes has missed 5 weeks and will be missing at least 3 more because of a hamstring tear that he suffered while rehabbing from a tight calf that turned into a calf strain.

Fernando Martinez's Long Awaited Callup

For those of you who don't know who f-mart is, he is the Mets most heralded minor league prospect, and he just got the much anticipated call up to the Major Leagues with Ryan Church going on the DL. When the season started, I thought there was NO WAY he would ever get on the team this year.
