Neccesary Offesason Moves
Submitted by 11dorisa on Sun, 09/28/2008 - 22:05.Perhaps the best way to get past a loss this devastating is to look forward. it is no secret what our biggest flaw was this season. it is in a way sort of suiting that the mets lost due to schoenweis letting up a late homer. i think our starting pitching and bats are the best in the NL, other than with RISP, but we could use some help there too. we have some ap room again so it's time for minaya to go to work. here are my proposed moves for this offeseason.
1. fire heilman.
2. fire feliciano.
3. don't resign pedro. i think he is done.

Mets vs. Marlins Series Discussion
Submitted by 11dorisa on Sat, 08/30/2008 - 03:03.sorry rob, i got impatient and made my own. hope you won't mind. what a game! i left the room with the mets down 2-1 with 2 outs and nobody on in the top of the ninth, and came back to find we were winning 5-2! talk about clutch...single, single, walk, homer, and before you know it we are 2 games ahead of the phils! the phillies must be pissed because of not only our great comeback but they lost a tough game late too. and then our bullpen almost blew it! ayala almost wore out his welcome here in new york before he even settled in! letting up 2 in the bottom of the ninth after such a tremendous rally and stranding a guy on third was waaaaaaaaaay too close for comfort. but over-all, a good game.

Some Stats I Found
Submitted by 11dorisa on Thu, 08/14/2008 - 22:29.now, don't think i did this research all by myself, the following text is copy-pasted from anothe rmets site. but remember how i have been saying all along that the difference between the mets and phillies this year (and i would guess last year as well) has been 1. late game prowess and 2. converting with RISP? i have said that while our bats have been getting on base more effeciently than the phillies, the phillies are converting in RISP situations, late game situations, and other clutch times and that is whay they have been leading the NL East for most of the year. well, not that any f you were disagreeing with me, i found some stats to evidence my point. take a gander.

Down the Stretch
Submitted by 11dorisa on Tue, 08/05/2008 - 05:33.Apparently the mets are going to be involved in another fight down the stretch this year, only this time with 3 teams! hopefully this year will have better results than last. but the following facts are all in our favor, meaning that i think we have the edge to overcome our 3 game defecit and take the division. consider that...
1. Out of all three teams, the mets opponents from here on out have the lowest winning percentage. so frankly, the teams we're playing from here on out aren't as good as teh teams's their playing.

I'm Back... What did I miss?
Submitted by 11dorisa on Tue, 08/05/2008 - 01:34.I left on July 16th, the final day before play resumed after the all-star break, with the mets back a half game and on a 9 game winning streak. all i know now is that we are three games back and on a 4 game losing streak, and maine is on the DL and wagner may be soon to follow. sounds like things haven't been going well. but then again, i wasn't here, so fill me in. how have we been playing? have we been motivatred and playing with heart, but have just got a few bad breaks? have we completely collapsed after the break and are lucky to be as close as we are? somewhere in the middle? i know which games we won, but not howe we won them or other big news. i also came back to find the manny ramirez, jason bay, mark teixara, and ken griffey jr. all have new teams!

Corner OF Options
Submitted by 11dorisa on Thu, 07/10/2008 - 16:48.It seems like everybody on the other post agreed the mets need to improve their corner outfeilding positions, as church will not risk his career to rush a return to a pesky head injury and alou can't stay healthy (btw, alou just pulled his hammy diving for a ball in his AA binghampton rehap start, eraasing any chance he will be back before the break, even though he was scheduled to be back by Friday. point proven). i for one am not comfortable rotating endy chavez, marlon anderson, fernando tatis and whatever too-young minor league callup we can find for the remainder of the season, and would like to make a move to bolster our options at the corner outfeild position. so everybody put on your omar minaya thinking caps and try to come up with some possible acquisitions!

Just Scored Some Front Row Seats!
Submitted by 11dorisa on Fri, 06/20/2008 - 01:57.Living just outside philly, and not having my own car or enough money (I'm 15) i don't get to see the mets live much. but i just scored some seats at CBP RIGHT BEHIND THE CATCHER for when the mets play the phils in a 4 game set just before the all-star break! my mom works with an avid phillies fan, and my mom told him i would like to go when he offered, not informing him i like the mets. he prolly wouldn't have given them to me had he known! regardless, it should be pretty funny when the phillies fans and mets fans turn on their tv's to watch, and right in the front row of the supposedly phillies home town crowd behind home plate it a guy wearing a mets jersey! tat oughta piss em' off, frikin philies fans!

Ungrateful to Minaya
Submitted by 11dorisa on Wed, 06/18/2008 - 16:46.I think it is very unfair the way omar minaya has been treated as of late. i don't know enough about the wilpons to protect them, but minaya should not be drawing any blame or poor publicity for his handling of this team. When minaya took over in 2004, our team sucked. we had been in last place for each of the 2002, 2003, and 2004 seasons. i don't remember our whole roster, but it included no-name starters like joe mcewing, ty wigginton, doug meintkeivich, miguel cairo, jay payton, and mo vaughn. the team was garbage, our pitching staff was worse. we had just traded scott kazmir to the rays for victor zambrano in the prior gm's reign. then minaya came.

Just Favorited this site
Submitted by 11dorisa on Fri, 06/13/2008 - 19:40.I will be on these blogs a lot more, because i just favorited this site. i love having a spot to vent about (and hopefully praise) the mets and discuss them. this is a good spot! i also love the podcast and the fantasy league, so keep it up rob!

Ok, everyone take a deep breath
Submitted by 11dorisa on Mon, 06/09/2008 - 22:58.i know everyone is frustrated, annoyed, confused, deflated, peeved, sad, disgusted, and many other adjectives about the mets play, record, and the general way this season has gone. i completely agree that the mets have not lived up to expectations and that they should be doing much better. this losing and playing like crap needs to stop. however, all is not lost. in slumps like these, we just need to take a step back, look at the big picture, take a deep breath and wipe the slate clean. nobody should be happy or proud of the mets season so far, but we are only a little past the 1/3 mark of the season. we are 7.5 games back, with 32 games left until the all-star break.
